What does my truck got?
I have a 94 f-350 7.3 turbo D. ext long bed dually 5 speed 2wd . i bought it from my uncle who bought it when he was in a bind in kentucky when his other truck broke down so we dont know much about it but i wanted to know if you guys could help me out on what it has performance wise. ok so with the exhaust anywhere above 2500 rpm if i let off the gas it sounds like a jake break on a semi extremly loud so i'm thinkin maybe straight piped? and it also has a turbo boost guage that has a banks sign on it and the truck pulls like a semi but i couldnt see anything under the hood that says banks on it but i didnt exactly get into to much deatail but just wondering if you guys had any idea. o and it is also geared reeeeeeeeeeeeeally low 85 mph maxed at the rev limiter wondering if you knew what gears i had in it.

All diesel are geared really low as they have no upper rpm power at all. that's why your tach only goes up to about 3000 3500 at the most. A turbo charged 7.3 L may top at 85 mph, but you could pull a house and it will still top out just as fast. Most turbos have a "wastegate" on them that relieves boost once you let off the throttle at higher engine speeds. This is probably where your loud noise is coming from.
