I have a 2005 F350 with a 6.0. I can't get a set of batteries to last much over a year. I have tried several different brands and even tried dry cells without any luck. The engine cranks a long time before starting. Doesn't matter if it's cold or warm. I have a hunch the two are connected. My local mechanics can't find anything wrong, tried reflashing and had no luck. Has anyone else had this problem? If so, what did you do to correct it?
As for the long crank to start: check ICP and IPR values. See if you can check to see how many RPM's your starter cranks your motor. Test your FICM voltage. What CCA batteries are you using? What oil and filter are you using--these can be critical?
