need fly wheel torque specs

7.3 idi.,has 3/8 bolts. cant find specs on here except some one said 75 to 85,and thats to much for a 3/8 bolt. whats the book call for?

haynes manual calls for 89 ftlbs????? cant be right,can it on a 3/8?

6.9 here, same 3/8 bolts though. I broke one when I took it to 85 like the book said. I replaced them all, put red lock-tight on them, and took them to 60. None broke. Does this help?

I am at 50lbs now, but i didnt use lock tight. i put boltprep thread sealant on them. looked like they had locktight on them once,some red residue. when i took this off the doner truck. it appeared to have never seize on them. still dont have the clutch on it yet. thinking about pulling them back out and cleaning it up and putting lock tight on it same as you. there should be a 'factory method' and torque spec for this. we cant be the only two on this forum with 3/8 flywheel bolts that has needed a clutch. need info fast want to put this in today!

I think i haev a haynes manual but it's a repair manual for the 6.9 and 7.3l diesel and it lists 47 ft/lbs for the flywheel to crank bolts?
