Hey History makers --- whats your plans for this evening?
My son and his family are coming over and I will cook or he will cook some dawgs and then the towns fire work display ought to start about 9pm and we'll watch that from the back yard and then send em home.
My dughter and son-in-law opted to stay home as they wanted to cook their on BBQ and drink a few beers. Cant say I blame then with triple patrols on duty. Nothing like a 7 thousand dollar lawyer fee to ruin your night.
You know its strange with all of the concern over drinking and driving it seems to me that there is more DUI's that what I remmeber as a young man. They were DWI's but now its DUI's --- somebody set me stright on that.
Well anyhow back to the Q

We'll be "skirting" through your state (NE) area on our way to Wisconsin, Minnesota and points west in a little over a week!...
BTW...I HATE pulling our camper through Chi-town!!!...LOL
Joe.
Not a fan of driving through Chicago period, much less with the trailer. I am going to bypass it via I80 to Iowa City, then cut north on I380 through Cedar Rapids and eventually hooking up with I35 and I90. Mapquest says it's only 18 miles farther than straight through Chicago on I90, plus you avoid a lot of toll roads which are pretty pricey with a trailer.
Works out well enough for our first overnight at a county park near Waterloo IA. 612 miles on the first day and that leaves 571 to get to Badlands NP. From there, it will be fewer miles per day until the 3 day return home from Yellowstone.
BTW, reps have been spread and hope you all had a happy 4th!
