So the weather turned to utter cr@% (fun) last night, Locked in my hubs and turned the dash switch to 4H, then turned the climate control to the vent setting, Got a cracked windshield so didnt want the defrost selection and possibly makin crack worse. well all I got was defrost, no vents and no floor heat either. the 4wd works fine, could feel it diggin n bitin its way up the snowy muddy hills, anyone got any ideas on this?

That's what I was afraid of, any ideas on where to start lookin? Seems like all the vital stuff is run off of or affected by some vacuum line somewhere.
If the 4WD is working then you have a working vac pump. Must be a leaking vac line. Start under the hood and check for vacuum at HVAC vac line and that is connected.
Next is behind the glove box. Here's a schematic for the manual a/c system.
Thanks guy's, Lot's of great info However, the mystery continues, Fired the truck up tonight to go back to the camp and the vents were blowin warm air when I got in (after about 15 min of warmup) and all the positions on the climate control worked as they were supposed to as well as the 4wd. I will go through all the lines and inspect them for leaks with the help from all your contributions. Thanks
ESOF module. Seriously check that out. It's not a lot of money and this is a common failure point at this age. I replaced mine with the same symptoms you describe and haven't had a repeat of the problem since then.
