Heating problem
Hey all, I have done multiple searches trying to find the same problem and have been unsuccessful so far.
My expedition is: 2000 EB 4.6L 2WD
My problem: I ONLY have heat on the floor in the front. All the other options (DEF, PANEL, ETC) blow great....just not hot air like the floor!
I have no heat in the rear. Once again all options blows great....just not hot air!
AC functions great!
I have flushed the rad. I have replaced the T-stat. I have replaced the water pump.
Looking for help.

Are you in northern or southern CA? I'm guessing southern.

I suppose that's still south enough to have fairly warm weather most of the year. I think you're having a blend door issue. With floor selected the A/C compressor doesn't run like it will for the other selections. When you switch from floor and the compressor kicks on, you're getting some of that ice cold air mixing in with your heated air because the blend door isn't all the way over to the heat side. You can test my theory by unplugging the compressor so it won't run and seeing if the temperature becomes consistent as you go through the different air flow selections.

Ya the weather is nothing to complain about for sure! Its more the idea of something not working properly!
Thanks for the advice. I'll look at the blend door fix. I've seen heatertreater ads out there for blend door fixes. Any thoughts on this method?

So I took it to the mechanic the other day and I was told it is the control head and I need to replace it. 700 bucks I don't got!
Any opinions on this? Would the control head be the culprit with the symptoms. I would love another option other than the 700 dollar one!
Blend doors seem fine.
