96 Ford Explorer Air Conditioning

I am new to this site - so if this is posted somewhere else, sorry to take up anyone's time. I was unable to find anything on it.

Here's my problem:

My Air Conditioning unit is running all the time even when I have selected full heat. Now the compressor isn't running all the time, however when I select outside air (No A/C) the air is just as cold with the A/C on as it is when its off. I read the thread on the Blend door fix, however not sure if this is the same situation. When I turn the heat on, I have some warm air but not hot air. Is it my Blend door being broke or is it some other problem? Does the a/c compressor continuiosly cycle? Any help that you provide would be greatly appreciated.

BK

I would try the blend door fix, the ac will only cycle if you have it set to defrost or max ac or the ac button pressed in. As for the cold temps thats proablly your blend door, because the ac will cylce with defrost set even in the coldest temps, because its removing the moisture from the windows but it will come out just as hot. as long as you have hot selected

The only mode where the A/C compressor doesn't run is in Vent mode. The compressor runs in all modes. You can hear it clicks every 5 seconds. It's normal.
