Question ip and injectors

Hi all,

I have been reading the posts concerning inj pumps/ injectors and am a little confused.

My truck has the original pump and injectors and had approx 286K miles, seems to be running fine.

Have been using approx 4 oz of ATF in each tank when towing to add lube.

Should I be concerned after reading post about changing these items at 100K?

thanks

if you like fuel economy and performance, nothing beats keeping them fresh every 100k.
most who have let their fuel systems go for so long, all claim a noticeable difference in power (that's when you know you've waited too long imho.)
@ $4 a gallon,it's much cheaper to keep an engine properly tuned than it is to neglect things by a very large margin if you drive a lot.

The best way to determine if you need to do something is monitor your fuel economy. A worn pump will gradually lose FE as it wears and effectively retards the timing. Poor starting is another indication of a worn IP.
