No fuel getting to f-450 7.3??

No fuel to filter?

Hey guys i ran my f-450 out of fuel today. Fueled it back up to 3/4 tank, turned the key 10 times the pump on the frame rail is running every time but it still wont fire.

I pulled the filter and the bowl was full, turned the key on and it pushes NO fuel up to the bowl. Tried over and over. No fuel at all is getting up to it.

can this pump prime its self or should i try to pull a line and feed it?

I was just trying to get to the shop to start a IDM repair! Always something.

When you say "turned the key on and it pushes NO fuel up to the bowl" do you mean with the cover off?

There is a spring and shut off valve in the stem in the center of the bowl that prevents from spewing fuel if the filter is not installed.

You could turn the key on and the push it down manually to see if it's pumping.

If the bowl was full I would think it's at least moving some fuel.

With the filter in the bowl, open the drain valve. With the valve open, see if fuel is coming out of the bowl drain.

You have to have the filter in as the previous post explains.

I got it fixed. Had to take the line off in front of the pump and suck on it as soon as I got fuel I put the line on fast and then it started right up.

My next questions will be about the IDM and the two codes im getting. I dont remember what they are but I think the number 4 injector was the issue. Im planning to pull the cable covers and inspect the connections tonight.
