My wife and I saw this truck while we were on our way to our nephews wedding on Saturday. It was just sitting out in front of the business, next to the road. There was not a for-sale sign on it, but it looked to be so. We stopped and took some pictures on our way back on Sunday evening. I am not sure what year model it is, but I believe it to be a mid-sixties model. Here they are for your viewing pleasure.
Someone got a coupla cans of red paint for their birthday or X-mas, then went hog wild painting stuff red that was never painted red before.
By the grille, it's a 1965 F100 Standard Cab, which would have a painted steel grille (should be white). Standard Cabs do not have stainless steel w/shield reveal mouldings.
But, the front fender emblems are incorrect as they are for a 1966. 1965 emblems are not repro'd, so some peeps use 1966 emblems that are repro'd.
Since it's a Standard Cab, the Custom Cab door handle guards are incorrect.
Has the correct round speedo, but the cluster bezel should be painted white.
The wheels, radio, radio antenna, outside mirrors and air cleaner are aftermarket, the seat upholstery is wrong. It's missing the horn button (Custom Cabs have a horn ring).
The moulding on the dash was only used if a truck had a padded dash, or as a dividing line if the dash was tu-toned.
Since the only difference between a 1965 vs 1966 is the grille and fender emblems, the only way to verify the year is by the last 6 numbers of the VIN
The only way to verify if it originally was a Standard or Custom Cab is by the BODY code, that is stamped on the Warranty Plate.
Ditto for the red paint job, the COLOR code is also stamped on the Warranty Plate.
I agree nice looking 65? 66? I probably would have painted the steering wheel black along with the dash top. Maybe some red pinstriping on the seat with a red inlay in the center. What do I know though some people like red lots of it.
If ya zoom in, there is a lot of spots that the paint is real thin, even some rust showing through that red paint. As Bill said, it looks like they used cans of spray paint. Grubbworm, did you take the pics? Was the paint pretty thin? Still, it looks like a good basic truck.

Yes, I did. The paint did look a little thin, and the body was kind of wavy (if you know what I mean). The bed-liner looked to be of the roll on variety with some holes, pits, nicks, 2-tone white and black (like it had been spray painted too), and some rust showing through. It appeared to me that the paint job was the best part. Oh wait, I think the best part was that it was a nice looking Ford truck in decent shape. I told my wife, if I didn't already have a good truck, and I could have gotten that one for less than $1000, I might have considered buying it. But, I don't even know how much $$$ or even if they are selling it.
Lucky you didn't get shot opening the doors and hood on someone's truck on their property without any howja do!
Well, It was sitting out by the road like it was for sale. If you look at the pictures you can tell it is not sitting in the parking lot or by the building, but out by the road. And There was only one other vehicle there (which you can see), and it has been sitting in the same spot from time to time.

Unibody, where are you located? I'm in Acworth (by Holiday Marina). Maybe we should get together sometime and talk Ford trucks or something else. The wife and I will be at Mexico Tipico in downtown Acworth this Thursday at 6pm.
