EGR Valve reinstall
I have pulled my EGR valve and cleaned it and am getting ready ro reinstall it. Are there any hints or tricks I should be aware of so I do not ruin the O rings. I have cleaned and vacumed the area the valve goes in and am using new O rings and gasket. this is a 2004 6.ol.

I always reach down in there and coat both seal areas with a light coat of high temp grease as well as lightly coat the orings. It should slide right down in there with just a little shove. You should also use a piece of scotch brite or something similar to polish the carbon build up off of the seal areas in the intake before you grease them. This will keep you from damaging your orings and make it easy to pull out the next time. I usually try to clean mine every 6 months or so. Just be sure not to drop anything in there and don't use anything gritty like emery cloth to polish the seal areas as it will get sucked right into the cylinders.
