so i was driving around today and noticed a intermittent tick/rattle coming from the engine at idle. when i got home i popped the hood and listened for where the noise would be. it sounded like it was coming from the power steering pump or somewhere around there (maybe a pulley). power steering fluid was low so i filled her up...still ticking.... i did the "screwdriver stethoscope technique to the rocker covers, bottom of the engine etc...everything sounded fine. but there was still a significant ticking from around the pulley/ power steering pump area.
any insight to what it might be? bad pulley bearing?
well. it looks as if it might have just been the power steering pump being out of fluid. since i have topped her off and been driving it the noise has disappeared (don't know if that is good or bad though! haha) i am sure the pump will need to be replaced soon.
also. can anyone recommend a spot to get a engine block dipstick at. i cant seem to find a oem one for the life of me!
also also. can anyone recommend a good bolt-on air intake/filter combo that wont require re-jetting. i want to clean up look of the motor a little.
