I recently picked up a 59 f100 thats been converted to 4x4.
It has a 292, a t98 tranny and dana 24 transfer case to i believe a 9in rear.
can i put in a 400 with c6 which came out of a f350 and keep my transfer case with out any problems. and have the shifter on the steering column.
My concern is the drive line from the c6 to the dana 24.
You may have a length problem with the C6 if it has the long tailhousing. With the T98, which is a pretty short transmission, there is a short propeller shaft, to the best of my memory about 20" long, to the transfer case if the truck has the transfer case in the OEM location.
Not knowing how you are going to mount the engine and C6, you might be able to get away with a shorter propeller shaft made up of two yokes and about a 2" minimum length of shaft or as long as needed.
You are going to have to do some measuring to see if it will fit.
