I have 2006 f-350 4x4 with approx. 77,000 miles, I have been told by several mechanics that i should upgrade (or delete ) the EGR on my truck and step up my injectors (they refer to 70hp injectors ). I do pull a rather large 5th wheel trailer and haven't had problems other than that I would like a little more power with out loosing dependabity. Could I hear any feed back on this, I am not looking for "pro-street" truck but performance with longtivity and dependabilty is what i want.
To start with you need to find out the health of your motor get some gauges something like the Edge Insight CTS with pryo a must if you pull need to know temps ECT-EOT max spread is 15* i think if you are around 10* running on flat ground doing 60mph your cooler are starting to get plugged then a fuel pressure gauge under 45lbs at WOT kills injectors then if you go for a tuner have the money for ARP studs because it will happen. The add a coolant filter also a must to remove the casting sand. I pull a 14k 5er and have no problems.

Better start studying you cant just upgrade Injectors like that with out upgradeing other stuff to
like ARP Studs, Turbo so its got enough air and maybe some fuel system upgrades
Id deleate the EGR I did mine and Gained 1-2 mpg I put in synthetic oil at the same time to so maybe a combo of both for the mpg gains
But with the EGR deleate your not putting HOT SPENT Air back inti the cylinders
The colder air is more combustable and Cleaner
Plus if the EGR Cooler is gone there is nothing to fail and alot less likly to hydro lock the moter
