I have a 1994 Ford F150 ... 4.9L V6 with a 20 bolt e40d trans. problem i am having is ..... in park , it seems to want to "drive" forward, but park keeping it still ..... reverse , drives forward , Nuetral drives forward .. drive drives forward and shift like normal ......I have changed the shifter thing on the side of tranny , and still not fixed .... could there be any other easily fixable problems i may check before droppin big money in a new transmission?

Sounds like it needs a new valve body But with teh E40D who knows... Have you pulled the codes ?
I am not by any means knowledgable when it comes to cars , and i have just started taking interest in the DIY on the truck, so not sure as to the codes you speak of.

OK this trans is fully computer controlled. when it messes up it will store a code in your computer. You need to run a self test. I dont have a link to a how to handy but if you use the search function off the main forum page you will find it search- self test. Post back what codes it has and more people will help you out. Till you do its all guess work and thats never good. I do thinks this is in the valve body though but again just a guess...
