It switches from park to drive to reverse and back rough. As i slow down to stop I get a few tremors. Almost like there is some play somewhere. And when i start it has tremors, like its catching up with itself.
Any idea what some of the obvious or less obvious issues it could be?

Well next time it starts acting up check to make sure that light isn't flashing on the shifter. Its common to have these issues. Could be one of a number of sensors affecting the transmission. You should still hook up to a code reader and check for faults.

It won't cost that much, fix the E4od so you can sell it with confidence. ;)
I was into dirt bikes and all that stuff too and that's why my '75 F150
I special ordered when I was 21 is sittin' out in the driveway ready to
go anywhere.
That truck never broke down and left me stranded, ever!
I didn't abuse it, see? ...used it to haul the stuff I did abuse. LOL :)
