Exhaust system

I have an 87 Bronco 351W 4x4 c6 auto. I am going to need a new exhaust system soon. I am going to put headers on. Now I know that usually anything is possible, but can you, or has anyone, run TRUE duals. I was looking around under the truck, and it seems as though the front drive axle and transfer case would be in the way. And if it is possible, do you guys think that it would be worth the extra money, or is there not much of a gain, performance wise, to running true duals.

I have the same bronco with true duels. I read an artical about the exauhst system which basicaly said that if you run duels run a H pipe also.

you can get the same if not better performance out of a good 3" single exhaust as with duals. see you live in jersey so true duals wont pass emissions inspections. and with duals you shouldnt go any bigger then a 2 1/4 because you dont want the exhaust to flow to well. Some backpressure is needed to get you moving.

With headers buy a good set , expect to pay around 300+. I bought the summit ones and regret it big time.

good luck, im sure more will chim in on this

later

Gotta agree with Kemicalburns on this one. Three inch single with a high flow cat. and 2" arm to 3" main pipe Y-pipe with all the necessary emissions fittings. Bolt up a good set of shorties and and nice sounding muffler and you will pass everything on the freeway including the emissions ****'s! Most everybody here knows my opinion of Bassani so I'll spare you guys. But I will say look long and hard at their stuff. Yes, its a bit more $$$ but when you consider the fact that the OEM Y-pipe From ford will run you 3/4 the cost of the complete Bassani system, its worth a second look. I know there are several guys here running there shorties and Y-pipe configuration. Some have opted to drop a different cat-back system behind it but either way its been worth every penny for me.
