I worked the truck pretty hard a few weeks ago and someone mentioned when I got back that it sounded like a dead miss at idle and just above idle.I pulled the valve covers for a quick peek, all injctors pumping oil normaly and unplugged each injector and it made about the same amount of differance unplugging each one.Been using the truck each morning and put a fair amount of miles on it the one day. Each morning nice idle,I idle to town each morning about 10 miles and when I get there is starts to get the miss.Pulling trailer etc still get good fuel milage and power is close to normal I think.Don't this for a long time, not sure what causes it and not about to pump money into it at this point as my cc is slowly coming together.Incase I need parts down the line from this truck was hoping to figure out what would cause it .
the 97 motor got me thinking. didnt cali 97s have split shot injectors ? could it be that the split shots are making it run bad, and when its really cold and the oil is thick they are working on more oil ?
I did some research on here originaly and seen that,I checked the part number a few years back and both motors have the same part nmber on the injectors.I also seen info that the dual mass flywheel could cause this. That was the reason I welded it.It runs way smoother with it welded. After the fact I found out the flywheel had recently been changed.I suppose with is shaking it gets into a rythem with the flywheel causing it to get way worse.
