Just what the heck is a "parkway", that you can't drive on it with a regular pickup truck?
That's insane!!

Haha I wish I was in your Shoes. They are like little high way that are the best way to get around southern n.y. But there are no commercial trucks aloud on the park ways. Now if you have a truck that weighs over 5500 lbs you have to register it commercial in n.y. And you can't drive on the park ways. It is a bad ticket if you are cought too it is considered disobeying a traffic control divice because there are signs that say no commercial trucks. It is the biggest pain in the a$$. Now if you have an excision which is the same as an f250 except heavier you can get pasanger plates because it is not a pick up. Even though my f250 with and extenda cab and a bench seat in the front can legally sit 6 people it is not a pasanger vehicle. Any regular 4 door sadan can sit 5 but it is a pasanger vehicle, mine sits 1 more but I'm not a pasanger vehicle. Sorry for the rant but n.y.s. Laws drive me nuts

Well dont get weighed, because your truck is closer to 6500, your title is wrong on the unladen weight. What is the truck registered for?

There's no way the DMV can know what your truck weighs unless they put it on a scale. If you want to know exactly what it weighs, go to a truck stop and weigh it on a CAT scale. It costs like 8 bucks.

it dosnt matter to me what any truck actually weighs i just need the weight on the title to be below 5500. dmv could care less what it actually weighs it is only the number on the title that matters to them. i dont care if my truck weighs 7000 lbs as long as my title says below 5500 so i can get pasanger plates

I would seriously doubt that truck weighs in under 5,500. My old 1990 Light duty F250 5.0 4X4 ran across the scales at precisely 5,500lbs empty.

So what question are you asking us? Just look at the title for the truck.

You want title numbers?
here ya go
But just so you know the NY parkway goes by the REGISTERED weigh. NOT the UNLADEN weight. Just like EVERY state does

State// year//vehicle// unladen title weight// registered GVWR// actual weight
NJ....... 73.... F350 ..................................... 7500 .......... 10,000
NJ .......79 ....E250...........5,000....................6500.. ........... 5,000
NJ........90 ...RANGER ..... 3800.....................5,000..............3800
NJ........90.. RANGER ........3800.....................5,000 ............3800
PA........86..... F350......... 5,000.................... 6000 ............ 5,800
PA........80 ......F350 ........5,500.....................10,000.......... ..5200
PA........86...... F250 ........3,947.......................8600.......... ...6400
PA........04.... ranger .......3,583......................5,320........... ....3800
NJ........99 ......F550 ..................................18,000.......... . 10,000
PA........94 ......F150 .........3,800 ..................5,000.................4,400
PA........97...... F250...... 8,800................... 20,000................7,000
PA........95 ......F350....... 5,014...................19,000...............8,000
PA........97 ......F350....... 7,400................... 9,200................7,000

All of my Pa titles has unladen wight and GVWR(registered weight).
Registered weight has to cover the truck, the trailer and anything else that is in/on the truck&trailer.

SO, if the truck weighs 6,000, and the trailer weighs 2,000 and the car on the trailer weighs 3,000. You will need a GVWR of at least 11,000 to be legal. then you will be WAY over the Parkway's allowable weight.

My reg cab 1980 F350 429 auto 4wd with me in it and 1/2 tank of fuel weighs in at 5,400. That is NO trailer and nothing else

My reg cab 1986 f250 6.9 4speed 4wd with me in it and 1/2 tank of fuel weighs in at 6,400

My crewcab 1996 F350 460 5speed 4wd with me in it and 1/2 tank of fuel weighs in at 7,000

My crewcab 1997 F250 7.3 5 speed 4wd with me in it and 1/2 tank of fuel weighs in at 7,000

I have enough of these trucks, to tell you what they weigh empty, what they are capable of towing and what they should be registered for

You asked a question. And i answered it and now you are arguing with me

im not arguing with you at all. and i thank you for your help im saying every truck i have ever registered in n.y. dmv only cares what is on the title. the weight on the title determins wether or not yoe get commercial plates. i just asked if some of the guys on this site with 460's could tell me the weight that is on their title so i could see how much they vary in weight and if it would be a truck i should continue to look into. you seem like i am bothering you by asking questions. when you fill out the paper work at dmv in n.y. they ask for the weight on the title. not the gvw, or the truck trailer weight or anything like that. that is all i was asking weights that guys have on their titles. like on my f250 i talked about befor. you say it weighs over 5500 lbs but my title says 4855 lbs. you said the weight is wrong on the title so hopefully i can find an f350 with a 460 where the weight is wrong on the title. Apperently the weights on titles vary so that is why i was asking guys for the weights on there titles. i think maybe you were getting confused on what i was asking.
