Coolant leak

This is quite interesting because I just posted a thread about Flushing coolant on my 06 F250. Either way, I have noticed today I had a slight leak, of what i believe to be anti-freeze. Drisp for a little bit after a park, then stopped it seemed. Saw a few different spots on the ground (about 5) so I am guessing that is from it blowing around while driving...either way, tomorrow, or saturday, I am going to look under there to see if I can tell where its coming from. Any tips on that? IIRC, the engine should be cold and feel all the hoses for moisture rught? It seems like its coming from the area where the water pump is...I know there are a bunch of hoses and such going to that area.

Also, I noticed this while I was about 1.5 hours from home, and the reservoir (i believe it is referred to as Degas bottle? Still learning my lingo) was completely dry. So I put some antifreeze water mix in there to get me home. It was just regualr ole antifreeze, not sure if thats a big deal or not? Let me know...It did get me home and truck stayed 179 - 194 degrees :-)

Thanks!

I developed a water leak after my coolant flush. An it was from my waterpump. Mines dripped onto the harmonic balancer an was very hard to find where it was coming from. It would leak just sitting an not running. I pulled off intake an turbo piping on driverside an used a mirror an flashlight to find it. If it's the waterpump it will be leaking from the waterpump pulley.

GeneLaw, you want to get your system flushed ASAP.... that old green anti-freeze is not good for your engine!

Shouldnt I find and fix the leak first? I dont want to have to flush it now, then flush again after the leak is fixed depending on what it is....not to mention, it seems that many people advocate flushes, but it causes more problems than they are worth! (i.e. the gentleman above)...not to mention, the kiss of death for oil coolers!

Waterpump from advance 127$.
Oil cooler. Bout 250 to 300$.
EGR cooler from bulletproof diesel. 350$.

Not doin a flush an stoppin up oil cooler til it ruptures an fills coolant system with oil an possibly melts oil filter stand pipe an then motor is junk.
PRICELESS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Flush coolant system an add coolant filter, if u don't already have one.

I heard that! I have an SG II, so I always watch those temps like a HAWK! I do not have a coolant filter, I will add one, just have to find some one to install it.

Def not trying to get 10K miles before I flush this coolant out, just enough to do a little work i have coming up this weekend. I will try to get the flush done next week, maybe the flush will bring the leak to light?
