Question What size is my tank.

Ok I am kinda getting fusterated. I am trying to figure out what size tank my truck has. First off it is a 04' Crew Cab 2wd short bed with the v10. I see they have mid ship and rear. Is mine the mid ship. Plus from what I have read is that there is a 37 gal, 29 gal and 19 gal. Well I have ran it pretty close to empty and the most I have ever been able to put in it is about 24 1/5 gal. An that was showing on the E line with low fuel light being on for awhile. The tank is on the drivers side and is very long and made of steel. Is this the common tank. Thanks

You should have a 29 gallon tank. The steel tank comment is kinda throwing me off. It should be plastic if it's the stock Ford tank. I wonder if the previous owner put a transfer flow extended fuel tank on there and the stock fuel gauge isn't reading correctly? Maybe someone who has a aftermarket tank can chime in and tell you if they did anything with their fuel gauge.

I rarely put more than 26 or so gallons into mine as well with a stock 29 gallon tank, so that seems about right.

That's about where mine kicks in. The needle can be buried on E, and the low fuel light on constantly and it will only take 25 gallons.

Ha HA HA at the current moment the fuel gage doesnt work at all. It rises just a tad not even to e line and thats it.. So I have to work on that.

Yea more or less. I'm still thrown off by the steel fuel tank though. Does your tank look like one of these?

Ford tank ground clearance
