Fuel tank question?????

What thickness/gauge would ya'll recommend on an in the bed tank? i am gonna get a lil chunk of change soon and want a larger tank, gonna build it myself.

I would inquire as to local regulations, here unless the tank is UL approved (either a manufactured tank, or modified truck tank) they get excited. On certain size tanks you may also need to have a decal identifying the contents.

The tank can't be over 119 gallons. Personally afor an inbed tank I would go 1/8 inch or close if I was building one.

somewhere around 11 or 12 gauge then... between 1/8 and 1/10

Yea I tend to overbuild things, but every square tank that I have ever seen a leak in was at the corner weld where it cracked, so in my rednech way of thinking 1/8 or close gives you more to work with as far as penetration without getting it too hot. I would also use a couple of baffles in it too.

1/8 or 11 gauge i hope you guys are talking steel. Aluminum 3/16" at a minimum.
