So whats the story with the ts performance 6 position chips like the one in the link below vs. the tony wilderman ones? I googled tony and it came back to this sight that I already had a chip picked out because its only a couple hundred bucks for 140hp! Can someone fill me in here? Could I buy this one and use it until I put injectors etc. in and then have that one flashed over?
A TS Chip is a product that most of the custom tuners use. It is a platform upon which they sell their tunes. TS the brand also markets their chips with their tunes on it as well. You can buy the chip with anybody's tunes you want. So yes, you could buy the chip from wherever you get a good deal and later can have somebody else's tunes put on it. However, you could also buy directly from the tuner you want and usually they will give you free reburns. If you don't buy from them, you will have to pay for reburns and the cost might become higher in the long run than it would have been just paying a little more upfront.
Thanks. And I understood that the ts was a platform etc. I was just curious more towards the reburning. So if I buy one from the link above they wont be able to reflash it etc. Now how do I get ahold of Tony directly? Anyone have a contact or a link? I looked and it was all aftermarket companies again?
His company name is Total Diesel performance. Google that and you will get his website...
Reburns will cost anywhere from 100-200 bucks depending on who you go to... So your 300 dollar chip just turned into 450 when i paid 400 for my tw chip and i get free reburns forever...
