chip/tuner help...

recently ive purchased some stage 1 injectors. i am currently looking to buy a chip for the truck.

id like some honesty on whos chip to buy, but i dont want this to turn into a pissin match.

due to some crappy customer service (names to be left unsaid) im having a hard time picking a company to burn a chip

here is a list of options, id like WHY and WHY NOT anwers to help me chose.

1. dp tuner

2. php

3. tony wildman

4. gearhead performance

and lastly a question about a TS performance chip....

are they worth a crap? and how do their tunes differ from anyone elses?

I've heard no problems with any of the ones you mentioned except Tony can be hard to get ahold of sometimes. I love my php chip.

I agree with above on most of those are good.
You will not be sorry for putting a chip in the truck. It will make a big difference in performance. There are so many choices on tunes you can get and it all depends on what you do,want and need....Good luck

I've been doing lots of research but I still cannot decide. This morning I looked at a ts chip. I can get a good deal on one but I'm very unsure if them. How do they compair to the others? And would it run my stage 1's and do any justice?

That is what I have.Tuned by Tony....He can tune the chip to whatever mods you have...That is what they all do.Good thing is,if you add more mods it can be re-burned again to what you have done.

there is one guy on here with TS tunes. but everyone uses TS chips cept for Jody I believe.

Matt, (i think its matt) at gear-head thinks he's the best tuner around. Heh.
I don't see anyone here using his tunes.

Jody and Bill (php) have great out of the box tunes.

With Bill, you'll get less smoke usually. Tony cleaned his tunes up a bit as well from what Travis says.
With Bills tunes, if you need any support from PHP, you can almost forget about it.
They have never returned my calls or emails.
Jody emailed me back IMMEDIATELY, with an answer to a stupid question for something I was looking for.
Tony is around over on PSN a lot. He can be difficult to get ahold of, but he will take care of you as well.
If I switch tunes, I'm going to Tony's tunes.

The other bias on this, DZL Jim Dyno'ed each set, and PHP had best numbers on the dyno.

If your looking for some good out of the box tunes for some stage ones. I'd go with PHP or DP Tuner.

I love my PHP. I had edge cts for 2 days and I hated it. had awful tunes. I drove a truck with a canned ts chip in a very similar truck and I can walk over it.

I've had my PHP chip for almost a year now and I like it a lot. Not too much smoke and lots of power.

Havn't had to use any customer support from them, but I could get a hold of Bill on their forum pretty easy.

From people I've talked to with the regular TS tunes they aren't as good as the others mentioned.

My php's smokes quite a bit at wot. I watched Dad from my mirror in my old truck get after it a little bit with a load of wood in the back on saturday and it was pouring black smoke out good. My buddy let us cut his tree belt out and wanted to see some smoke (he's got a 95 and an 02 stroke). It didn't smoke quite as much till I sent it in for a reburn a month or so ago, not it smokes good and runs better too.

I only have experience with DP Tuner, and I was very happy with my tunes and their service. I really like their switcher over the rotary **** too. However, now you can get a DP Tuner with a rotary **** and 8 positions instead of 6 (F8, fairly new). I will most likely be going DP tunes again in this truck.

Stay away from TS performance tunes. I've had them and they suck.

I would not be scared to try any of the custom tuners that you mentioned. You know what I'm running and I am very happy with it.

I would do one thing before deciding. Call each of the tuners on your list and ask to speak to them specifically (Jody, Bill, Tony, Matt ect). Now be aware that these guys are busy and they may have to call you back. If for some reason they are to busy to talk to you and answer your questions personally...Well they are to busy for your money too. I hate to be blunt, but it is, what it is. I have had stellar customer service from DP Tuner. When you call ask to speak to Jody, if he is busy he will call you back.
Good luck
