Got the Duraspark installed in my 70 and it runs great. I didnt get to drive it last night due to so many beer cans layin around! Is there a problem with having longer wires from the control module to the dizzy? I was trying to keep the install as clean and unoticable as possible so i ran the wires up along the drivers fender and behind the brake booster then up to the dizzy from behind the engine. It looks good but it did take about 5 feet of wire to get from the dizzy to the module.
I did the same thing. I put the module on the left inner fender an ran the wires up to the firewall an behind the engine to the dizzy. I did move the coil off the engine an mounted it to the firewall. So lengthening the wires is not a problem. The reason I did a duraspark conversion was the pertronix unit that I had used for about seven years failed . The replacement cost was to much for me $135 from O'reillys auto-parts
Good to hear, DSII will serve you well, MSD and all those other aftermarket "performance" ignitions are highly overrated, at least when it comes to a stock application.

Not at all, that's the same as the factory wire routing on 73-79's.
Well I got out and drove it today and did some adjusting to the timing and now I am able to set the initial at 12 deg with 38 total! I wasnt able to get that with the points without lots of pinging. It does run smoother now and very smooth take off's. I'm glad I made the switch.
