I recently bought a '07 F-250 SD 4D 4WD FX4. I think 3.73 limited slip gears. I get this weird whinning noise when I am driving. Sounds like rear end, but hard to tell because my wife will not let me strap her to the spare tire. I can hear it when I am between 65 and 70 only slightly. When pulling my camper I hear it a lot louder. Hear it when I let off gas or the engine is coasting down hill. Will quit when I slow down or speed up. Any ideas what to look at and the fix.
Up graded recently from a Tahoe 4x4 for pulling. Pull a 27' camper and 17' boat in tandem quite often. Really needed a good pulling truck. Please give me some ideas. Thanks.
Sorry I did not give all info. Thanks for all to help. It is a diesel 6.0 and it has 120000 miles.Tires show a little wear but are ok. when I bought it about 2 months ago the car facts was clean with only up-keep done and regular maintenance checks. I have tried to wiggle everything but will jack it up.
Why did you give her the option? I just say "Woman stop your cleaning for a minute got you're fat **** out to the truck and climb up on that tire....." Well yes my ribs are healing nicely thank you! The doctor says the bandages can come off my face any day now.
Jim & fat shaking in the corner Monty
Could it be the fan (clutch)? I get a low pitched whine or hum when I'm towing up a hill with my foot in it. I can get it to go out by backing out of the throttle (all while watching EGT gauge too).
