K&N Filter
I have a 1999 Ford SD with a 5.4L v8. Right now i have a basic from air filter. I was wanting to upgrade a little to a K&N High Flow filter. There are 2 options for me:
A certain part number with a 4in (i think) inlet thats specifically listed for my truck
and a universal K&N Filter with a 4in inlet.
Does it matter which one i use? or will both work the same and fit the same?

Option number one is the way I would go, but you could not pay me to use K & N! Its only AFE or stock MOTORCRAFT paper! K & N consistently rates the worst in independent filtration studies, not in my truck! Not even in my wifes!...lol

I would agree, just stick with the stock air filter. The K&N has the capability of flowing more air, but that means it also lets more dirt through. The stock intake can already flow more air than the engine uses anyway, so you won't see any performance gain.
