Wiring help..
Okay, I have a 54 f600 that i have been tinkering with. It needs rewired. The mice had a hay day with the cloth... So I have a 55 wiring harness out of a fairlane station wagon. It has the plastic coating. This will save me a lot of money. Is there anything that I will have to add? I know the cars did not have starter buttons, but I can go around that. Other than that I think the car had everything that the trucks did instrument wise. Also I want to run relays for my headlights. Which ones should I get? Also how is my two speed rear end wired into the equation?

It should work with a little patience but it would be money well spent to get a new harness. That harness is over 50 years old so it may not be in the greatest of shape. I put a an 87 Chrysler harness into my 48 F-3 and spent about a week sorting out wires before I got it in. It worked out okay but it wasn't worth all the time I put in it. If you take your time you can do it.

What do you do if the 57 harness wires are 3" too short on a circuit? Lots of cut'n'splices potentially. You could add the needed amount in the middle of the circuit. I'm sympathetic, wire prices are way up. It would be nice to have all factory terminals, for sure.
