I'm jumping in on your thread, as I have a similiar issue...if my ipr is bad, what will happen if i run the truck with it unplugged? My HPOP has a sticker on the side that says "remanufactured" (imagine my joy when i saw that). Is there a way to isolate the ipr or Hpop?

I ran mine for 2 months disconnected. No harm, just noticed a loss in low end torque and crappy fuel mileage. Be sure and get the Ford or IH part and not the fly by night one.
