i uh, procrastinated, and now paying the price. Few months back, somehow developed a "hole" on the sidewall, well put a plug in it and been fine since. JUST the other day, i rotated my tires, and noticed the pass/front was bad, should've been replaced, but flipped it to the back, thinking the tread will even out. Since then, it had a "wobble/bounce" to it, but convinced myself it was the one with the plug, since at the time of rotating, i pumped in the "slime" stuff to hewlp patch things up. SO, other night, i removed the patched tire, and installed my spare...next morning taking daughter to school, noticed it still "bounced", and now thought, great, grabbed the wrong tire to swap out. Got her to school, and on way back doing 70-ish...BAM, tire blew out, and not only that, took out my pass/rear quarter-panel....yup, i'm bummed.
I am very **** about tires.I do not wear out tires.I will buy a new SET when the tread has about 1/4'' 3/8'' left.I have seen several fender wells torn apart from the very same thing that happened to you.If it would have been on the front at 70mgh you might have had a rodeo on your hands. Not worth it to me.
Sounds like a belt slipped around in there. They typically do that as a set. If one goes in that manner the others are soon to follow. If you notice a strange vibration check your tires for unusual bumps. If you find one replace the set.

Yup, that why the rotation. Thing is, the wear was on the inside, so figured it would then wear even...wasnt the outcome. I could not have imagined, what it been like, for it to go, installed on front, it was a mess when it let go...in a slight dog-leg turn..etc, dont wanna replay this scenerio again...

Yeah, what sucks is that, i got the money, but just didnt pull the trigger. Now i HAVE TO pull the trigger along with atleast a 500-1k bill for repairs...doesnt add up. Just a bummer, truck, when clean looks good, and gets the job done, now, i got this da$# damage...

Gamble and win for long enough you're bound to lose eventually. I know I've had my fair share of losses.
Two things NOT to wait on, BRAKES & TIRES...In commercial vehicles they will hang you if defect found, and rightfully so.
O YEAH...run'n mixer trucks, did our walk around every morning, before firing up/leaving the plant.
I'm just glad it didnt "go" when taking daughter to school....What was weird was the "wobble/bouce" after the slime was installed. I chalked it up to IT, causing the imbalnce.
Another thing not to do is put a plug in the sidewall. Any reputable tire shop would never do that so you shouldn't do it either. The plugged tire was the one that blew out wasn't it.
