Cool Blowing off some steam

I just want to tell anyone that will listen or gives a d**n that Hankook tires SUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Being on a budget, we were looking for a deal on tires a while back. Our Ex isn't a daily driver. I get to drive my work van home, which saves on wear and tear on the Ex. We use it mainly to tow the camper and make trips to Lowe's and HD. There was a vibration in the front, so I thought it was time for brakes. Did the brakes and replaced the right front hub. I noticed that there was a bubble in the tread of the right front tire. Oh well I said, s**t happens. Went back to where I got the tire and they said that I would have to buy a new tire and they would send the old one out to see if I get any money back. See if I get any money back????? The tires had about 25,000 miles on them There is a supposed 50,000 mile warranty. I told them to never mind, I'll just ride the spare for now. Well, about three weeks ago, another vibration starts in the front. Guess what, the other Hankook tire has a busted belt in the tread too. Now I'm getting p****d. Knowing that I'm not going to get any satisfaction from Hankook, I said screw it and chalked it up to a learning experience. Today I went and picked up two Uniroyal Laredo Cross Country tires ( still on a budget, I'll let you know how they do). Got home and put them on the front and went for a test drive. Well, now there is a vibration in the rear. The f*****g right rear has a busted belt in the tread now. I'm ready to take these last two tires and shove them up someone's a**. I mean this is b******t. I keep my tires between 60-70 psi unless I'm towing. Then I run 80 psi. I'm sorry for all the ***s. I just had to vent somewhere where I won't break something. Oh, if anyone knows someone that works for Hankook, tell them to give me a call. I've got a present for them. Sorry to ramble. Thanks for listening.

I don't like paying good money for bad products either.

Like you said, it's a learning experience and hopefully someone else doesn't get stuck with the same garbage.

Yeah. You buy something thinking you're going to get a few years out of them. Now I'm spending more money that we don't have. To top it off, We're going camping at the beach next week. Guess we're going to have to cut out a couple of games of miniature golf.

You need to find a new tire store. The store I go to would have pro-rated the tire and replaced it. Then they would have dealt with the manufacturer to see if they got any money back.

Get you tires at Costco. They back up what they sell.

i'll agree, but Costco will only install the same size tire as indicated on the door jamb sticker, i.e., 265/75R16 is as large as they would install on my X.

Three bad tires isnt very common, have you checked for tire recalls or similiar complaints. Remember the Firestone recall?

Yep, been there too...

Bought some BFG Long Trails thinking they were good tires since they bore the BFG name...wrong. They didn't last very long and were eventually replaced with Michelin LTX M/S tires.

Always get your tires from Discount Tire Co.; I've been using them for years and I've never left dis-satisfied. They always take good care of me, give me a great deal on the tires I need, and are good about honoring the products they sell if there is ever a problem.

Thanks for the input. I would go to Discount but the closet one is about 30 miles away. I will check on recalls. Didn't even think of that one. I got the new tires from Tire Kingdom (same company as Big O tire and NTB). I've calmed down now and am REALLY looking forward to the beach next week. Let's see how the two new Uniroyals do with towing the camper.

Were the Hankook tires load Range E tires ?

I have a set of Hankook DynaPro MT03 285/70/17 Load Range D,,,With a Max tire pressure of 65 PSI,,,,So far they have been great tires,,,but only have like 11k on them,,Use them for plowing with my F-350,,,with a 9' Fisher plow,,,so far they have held up well !

From what I have found only load Range E's will take 80 PSI ! Seems odd they would all go bad about the same time!

I'll scratch Hankook off my list....Thanks. But what was the max psi on the tires? Could they really take 80 psi? Just wondering. And good luck with the new tires, and have fun at the beach

I have 7 cars/trucks and all have an assortment of tires. The best ones I have are the Michelin tires. My Durango needs a new set, the Cross Terrains are worn out but do not vibrate or anything, they have been on the truck for 6 years and 50,000 miles.

The worst tires I have purchased have been Goodyears, they always seem to separate belts.

I second the E-rated comment....?

Sorry about the tires though. A bad one of 'em will definitely not be a good day. Hopefully you can get something back for the tires...

Yes they were load range E. They towed fine. They were Dynamic RF-04. They were recently replaced by the Dynapro.

I have had very good luck and can recommend Firestone Transforce A/T's. Very economical and best A/T I have ever had. they wear good, quiet, and like I said economical. Check them out
