Transmission kickdown issue

Hey got a 1999 ranger v6 3.0 litre runs great but no kickdown to it. looked into the problem a bit but cant seem to find a definite answer. since its a 99 it has AOD so i cant just simply adjust the kickdown cable. Only time it will kickdown is if i have it floored. Dont think thats normal so if anyone has ideas to how to fix the problem or exactly what the problem is I would greatly appreciate it!

Maybe consider running this puppy by your favorite tranny shop for a drivetrain computer trouble code scan & post any code Numbers found.
