I have a 1994 F-150 with 5.0 liter EFI engine. I need to know where the throttle position sensor is located, and how hard is it to replace...where can I find complete procedures?
for background...this sensor and the Vehicle speed sensor communicate with the control computer to tell the E4OD tranny when to shift...shift is erratic...one time it's fine, sometimes it shifts late/hard, sometimes shifts to higher gears prematurely so my suspects are the TPS and the VSS. Got price from my local dealer to replace both...the price for the TPS swap out was quite high!
thanks for your help!!

Reason: correct typo's
I would also suggest you pull the VSS to inspect and clean it. You can also meter the TPS output for closed and open values. Also look for any spikes in the output signal when testing it. I found my intermittent hard shift problem was caused by corrosion in the TPS connector, not the TPS itself.
As always suggested, check for codes before spending money on parts.
