Here are 'some' items for you to think about.
The PCM has to be changed.
The harness from a V6 to a v8 for differences in engine control hardware.
Exhaust CATS and any differences in muffler hook up.
Cooling system changes etc.
If you have a doner truck with all the items it makes it a lot easier.
Better to get a V8 to start with and elminate all the hassles because you have a learning curve along with back yard engineering at the same time, to get over.
Good luck.
im only 18 but my dad has had the truck since i was like 6 or 7, the truck means alot to me so replacing the truck isnt an option but thanks for the reply
I had no way to tell what the value of the truck is to you, from your first post..
The point being offered is; do you understand that it is not a drop in swap?
Without knowing what your position is, the general answer is still the same unless you want to take it on as a long term project with lots of learning along the way.
Would be easier to replace the motor with a rebuilt unless there is nothing wrong with the one you have.
Good luck.
