Hello everyone, Im building/restoring a 73 F250 Single Cab Long Bed. Im in process of gathering pieces right now and ive noticed my truck has different side moldings then most the other trucks and I cant seem to find replacement moldings or the clips for it.
So my question is does anyone have any info about the molding or where i can find replacement moldings and/or clips
To my knowledge the narrow side moulding is not available from any aftermarket source, unlike the wide moulding w/black vinyl insert, which is available from numerous aftermarket sources.
alright thanks fortunately enough I found the missing trim pieces I didnt have at pick&pull today. But the not all the clips survived I just need to find some clips I wonder if the clips for the lower moldings are the same.
Yep aluminum is hard to find in good shape and its a pain to refinish. really too thing to hit with an electric buffer without fear of warping. A tip for reattaching, though, is that the stock "pegs" suck and the trim tends to get warped as you wrangle it on. Try 3m heavy duty trim adhesive tape, the kind body shops use. It won't rattle and it goes on and comes off easy if you ever need to get it off you can just take your time with a putty knife, a razor, or guitar string.
