The early Banks system with the big square filter box isn't very noisy at all. You can barely hear the turbo.
It also seems like it restricts the intake. Takes longer to spool, more smoke at the exhaust at low rpm. I am in the process of fixing something different instead of that HUGE filter box. I made a quick hookup with an open filter after changing return lines and O rings. It made a big difference in both the way it runs and the way the turbo sounds.
My first test run was open box and no filter, so there wasn't any restriction at the time. Must just be quiet.
One of our semi's at work is the same way, unless you're pulling 60k+ pinned to the floor you dont really hear the turbo. Of course our 855 Cummins is a different story...
Really big difference lol. How does she perform...god i wanna cry when i think about the turbo i finally had for the 84....and how it will never come true.
I havent even moved it yet. Need to get the crappy AirTex pump off and the Facet on. Need to pick up all my tools, put the cluster back in, and tie up some wires....
Getting off near dark is hell on getting anything done.... I need to get it to work so i can finish the exhaust.
