fuel in water

My overflow smells of diesel. Now it started smoking white real bad. Whats the deal? What do I change ?
It's an "05 F350. I think this motor sucks. One problem after another. Mostly egr system.

EGR cooler gone bad or cracked head. Usually if your coolant is diesel contaminated it's a cracked head.

Thanks. That sucks. I hear egr bypass systems cost about a grand. I dont even want to think what a new head replacement will cost.

EGR deletes are about $150 plus install. A new head is a grand plus install. Do you smell exhaust in the coolant or is it fuel? BIG difference here.

3C3Z-6049-DA is the part number for a cylinder head kit that includes the cylinder head itself, the head gasket, new cylinder head bolts, as well as new standpipe. Price that part number from various Ford parts sources to give you an idea on the cost of the part.

If its black that sounds more like oil cooler failure. Not sure that's any cheaper of a fix. but if you continue to drive it that way you will be buying a new engine.

If it was an oil cooler failure it would look like a chocolate milkshake--thick and creamy.

I will put it in the shop tomorrow. I can't afford to have it down for too long. I'll post the results in case it happens to someone else.
