What all would a transplant of a 4.6 v8 into a OBS truck entail?

What all would a transplant of a 4.6 v8 into a OBS truck entail?
This is a question of sheer curiousity......Seeing as those engines are literally a dime a dozen in my neck of the woods....
But getting into logistics-
Going from a 300 (145hp/265lb-ft) to a 281 (210hp/270lb-ft) would automatically add 65hp to the truck, and ~5lb-ft of torque.
Now, given the fact that ONLY the 1992-1995 Romeo 4.6l's utilizes the same bellhousing as a 300,302, and 351w....That means OBD-1 Diagnostics (Which is fine by me, btw)....That helps in the fact of using my M5OD tranny.....(Only difference I could honestly see being an issue is flywheel/pressure plate, etc...But overall, would seemingly mate up)
1991-1992 Romeo 4.6l engines used the Block casting #-F1AE
1993-1994 Romeo 4.6l engines used the Block casting #F2VE
1994-1005 Romeo 4.6l engines used the Block casting F4VE (Identical cast as the previous F2VE blocks)
Seeing as the radiator/engine mounts would be easily fixated.....
It seems that once I got the correct flywheel (If there's a difference, stll researching that), the engine mounts, radiator, and the wiring sorted out..It'd be fine.....
Any info out there? I know I'll get a LOT of flak for this blasphemy...But again, I'm just curious....
Also, what mods can actually be done to the "Older" 4.6's?
I know, I know..."Get a 302/351w for this crap"...Sure...Thats great...THEN I STILL have to make it a mass air engine to accept a milder cam...Just saying....
This seems to be a straightforward endeavor, IF you have a fully assembled engine, some wiring diagrams/schematics...And know how...
And as for the engine wiring its' self...What all is needed there, besides lifting the entire harness off as one piece, and taking the computer also...? Anything beyond that, and pinning the wires into the cluster (Which has its own question)...?
Cluster question....Would the cluster from a 1992+ crown victoria, etc actually physically fit? Seems if so, or with a small amount of massaging....It'd be a simple thing....
Now...Gimme some input on this..Good, bad points...Just bounce this idea for a while....Then lets see what goes from there...

I mean it seems simple enough for a simple engine swap....
How hard is the wiring to get in? And what all would that entail?
Btw-Did he go by the same screenname on here?

I can probably get the necessary parts for next nothing....There's 4 JY's that deals with NOTHING but crown vics, etc...

Pros for the 5.0 and 5.8 are going to be the relative ease of installation since these motors were stock so all the parts are available from a donor truck. Power is no contest here either, you can get upwards of 300hp from a 5.0 or 5.8 using the stock truck SD EFI system and it doesn't take much to get there, really just a cam and exhaust to get into the 260-275hp range and GT40 heads will put it the rest of the way. And more displacement = more torque so both these motors will out muscle the 4.6. Wiring is also going to be relatively simple, you could even use the existing 4.9 harness and graft on another set of injectors plugs and then just plug in a V8 EEC.. everything else is the same. There was somebody on here last year that did an I6 to V8 swap using the I6 harness.

One thing that you can do on a older 4.6 is the PI head/intake swap. The 99+ Mustangs had better flowing heads and intake, that's where the bump from 215hp to 260hp and 302 torque(I think) from 1998-1999. The older 4.6's will get a little bit more power from the PI heads and intake swap because of their compression ratio is higher then the 99+ engines.
I can't really help with the swap though, I bet that would be a lot of work. But if you really want to do it and have the tools then go for it, man.
