I had just done my 2nd fuel filter change and when completed I watched the motor run for some time and all seemed fine. This morning I got it warming up and after 5 min' fuel is dumping all over the ground!
I shut her down fast and opened the hood to make sure she wasnt goin up yet, all was ok.
I hosed the crap outta the hood insulator and the back engine.
It seems my cap wasnt tight enough, maybe the truck got warmer and more pressure? Not sure why it didnt leak after I had done the filter and Oil change, but whatever.
My Question is can that oring gasket be reused after being tightened?
Yes the o-ring gasket can be re-used. Make sure the issue is just a loose cap. Sometimes the bottom ring of the old fuel filter gets stuck on the shaft and stays inside the bowl making it hard to get the cap on tight enough. Sometimes the old o-ring sticks to the lid and you end up with two of them on there. If you've got the flat style o-ring, try cleaning it off and lubing it with motor oil when you re-install it.
Take the cap off and put a coat of motor oil on the seal, then put it back together. The only time I've had the cap leak was with the filter that comes with the cap attached.
Maybe thats what I forgot was to lube the oring, But the filter I bought this time was the complete lid and everything, are these gaskets still included loose?
yeah thats the filter I got this time the outer screen is attached!
Maybe I better go get the one I got the first time.
the top oring goes flat side down correct? better check all my bases here.
Thanks a bunch guys!!!

I would give this filter another chance. Just put some oil on the o-ring. I put a little oil on the threads also. Diesel fuel is not very good for a lub.
I tried this filter again, I just lubed the oring real good and did the filter thread abit too.
I got cocky this time and just did it w/out rereading the how too. I know better than that though, I always lube threads even on oil filter.
Seems fine now, I'll run it good and hot before I leave, friggin paranoid now.
I always read the "Fuel Filter" threads to see whats going on: I have used 3 Baldwin filters now in mine (with cap attached) and have just sprayed some CRC on the rubber seal and never had a problem.
I had to laugh when I bought a new Purolator filter (for my spare) and the instructions said "turn engine off" (LOL)
