steering column

hello everyone. im having a problem with the steering column on my 68 f100. i had some crackling in the bottom of the column and now i have ball bearings falling out on the frame from the lower column bearing. is there a repair or replacment bearing i can install?

Since you didn't say, I assuming your truck is 2WD

thank you for the info. is this something the column has to be removed for or can it be installed from the bottom side in the truck?

If yours has the fixed flange at the bottom that bolts the the rag joint yes the tube has to be removed. But the lower tube itself may need a new bearing cup welded into it. I believe you can just remove the steering wheel and dash mounting bolts, blinker wires and clamp by fire wall that holds the tube. I may have forgot or missed some little things to loosen but it is the main stuff. hope this helps some..my 2cents
