Took delivery of a diesel 2011 F250 SD CC with Lariat Ultimate package last night. Drove it to Indy and back (~120 miles) today.
I can’t see how anyone could not love this truck. 19.5 MPG, good ride, plenty of toys (wish mine had rear window defrost but didn’t have moon roof). It has the slightest of steering bias to the left; I’ll check air pressures first before I get it on the rack. I’m guessing here but it seems as if Ford has not worked out the ‘death rattle’ (the seemingly sloppy feel in the steering when going over a rough surface that I’ve seen spoken of elsewhere in earlier models) fully either. Being a gadget lover, of course I’m fully engaged with the Sync system; it ought to take me a couple of days to work through all the functions.
As far as the motor goes, I never thought I’d have a bone stock vehicle with ‘enough’ power. Having come from a supercharged Navigator it’s a little lacking in initial get up and go, but this thing builds so much torque that subsequent to a shift the vehicle almost yanks itself forward. I haven’t opened mine up just yet but the model that I test drove was impressive.
I don’t remember ever being quite so happy with a new car purchase.
Congrats. Glad you are liking the truck. If my truck was not in such good shape, I would look at the 2012 trucks. I'm just getting to old to buy a new truck.
Check your hubs, some have been known to have one or both locked (mine were both locked). Not that that would effect your steering but it's worth checking anyways.
Check down in the 6.7 forum for Epic's steering stab video. He put a set of duals on his truck and seems to have helped out. I got a video of what my (stock) truck does over bumps in his thread, you can really see the wheel flopping around in slow motion.
Sync is great, I won't own another car without it (and hate driving my wifes crossover now).
Wondering why you waited for a diesel now? They just pull like a train and keep on going! Congratulations on your new "baby" and I look forward to many years of entertaining story's to come!

As nice as these things are, I'm not so sure they haven't hidden a set somewhere for us to try to find.
Yea, there in the seat next to me, which makes me wonder why I got that console. No RH for sure. But I do like how this suspension is 'tuned; to the female anatomy.
