I feel like a five year old on Christmas eve. Later today I am getting a new exhaust done.
2nd gen lightning style. I know this is nothing special and has been done many times but I love the thrill of blowing money on my beloved truck! I'm doing single exhaust since I have stock manifolds and y pipe, I'm not a huge fan of cosmetic duals, no offense intended.
More later
The muffler is a Magnaflow 5x8x14. the tip is 3.5"
I bought the muffler used and the previous owners or some shop nearly ruined the muffler, the pipes were cut so close to the muffler it was tricky to weld pipe up to it, or so I was told.
I paid $20 for the used Magnaflow which I thought was decent compared to $100 new.
My previous set-up was Flowmaster 50 with stock tail pipe. I had that for a year and liked it, I just wanted to do something for fun.
Truck is 2WD auto 302ci
But I think dual tips(at least) will look alot better than single.
Whats your new exhaust going to consist of?
dual tips likely would look really good, i bought the muffler sort of spur of the moment and if it had been SI/DO i would have, that influenced me to do single mostly. it's still a bit more "flashy" than stock
a good buddy of mine has a 2001 SVT F-150 and that's what inspired me to do this
Looks good! How you liking the switch from flowmaster to magnaflow?
I'm still on the fence about that one.
I liked the "old school" rumble of the flowmaster, but I like the smooth sound of the magnaflow, I also like the idea of straight through design with no baffles to come loose, though I dont think that happens too often.
I kept my Flowmaster on the off chance I change my mind.
I originally considered Magnaflow but was afraid it would sound like a glasspack, which i don't like at all, and it doesnt sound a thing like a glasspack

Reason: added to
reason i made that comment is because on a 4wd rig that is the worst location to have the exhaust come out. and would be damaged extensivly on the first outting.

Yeah that makes sense, I was just curious I wasn't offended or anything. A buddy of mine has turn downs on his bronco just so they don't get smashed

I wheel my '95 plenty often and I've yet to damage the side exit. Though my setup is tucked up higher than the OP's, and I'm not running a fancy exhaust tip.
