My 95 F-150's airbag light is flashing in a sequence that Im guessing is a code. It flashes 5 times, pauses for a second and then flashes one more time...then starts over and does this the entire time the truck is on. Anyone else have this problem before or know what it means? Thanks in advance!
[quote=86F150302;10887164]Code 51. I posted on here somewhere what all the codes meant. Ill try and find it.
51 Air Bag Diagnostic Monitor Internal Thermal Fuse - Fuse Blown Due to Intermittent Short to Ground
That makes sence since recently my battery light will come on and the volts drop lower than the "n" in normal on the gauge. But...It will go off after a while and the needle goes near the center of the gauge.
Where do I find this fuse and the ground for it?
Thanks Again!
Its a thermal fuse with a part number ending in 167c. They are used in appliances. You should be able to find it on google. Make sure you fix all shorts in the circuit first, if not it will blow the fuse as soon as you hook the battery back up (unhook the battery for at least an hour before working on it). In the truck the fuse is inside the airbag controle module.
How do you find and fix shorts? I new to that sort of stuff.
Determine what circuit is shorted. Look at a schematic to see what is on that fused circuit. Follow the wires to see if there is damage. Is is safe to assume you have an air bag issue since you brought up a nine year old thread?

I had this tab open and one with my post from a couple weeks ago. I didnt realize I was reading the wrong one haha.
Mine is flashing 32 which is drivers side high resistance or open circuit... any ideas on how to fix that?
It's a matter of time before other functions may stop working, i.e. horn/cruise. The MOST likely cause of airbag monitor code 32 is a failing clock spring or other faulty connections.
