I am looking at stepping into the world of diesel ownership....I have found avery good deal on a 1993 F250 with the 7.3L NON-TURBO IDI the truck is rust free, 4x4 and looks super sharp BUT the motor is stuck.....Having a hard time finding another complete 7.3L non-turbo motor to swap into the truck. I was wondering if it would be more cost effective to tear apart the stuck motor or maybe just replace it with a newer 7.3 Powerstroke? bearing in mind that I only gave $800 for the truck mentioned above I would like to go the cheapest route, not looking to build a pulling truck or a dragster just wanting a 4x4 to haul hay and the oocasional trailer load of mowers or the little Kubota around...
7.3 powerstroke is not the same as 7.3 IDI except for the 7.3 size. But as stated any 6.9 or 7.3 IDI will bolt in. Sounds like your $800 never run engine is the way to go.
I am in Columbia, MO....and the never run engine fel through but however I did manage to find a 1994 7.3 IDI with the turbo. Which should bolt right in correct?
okay have yet to see engine but is supposed to only have 80,000 miles on it....we'll see and the turbo will be a nice touch and its nice to see someone from close to home and as far as price he is asking $800 but needs money so I can prolly talk him down...I hope
