Okay so is it my understanding that there is something currently there to mount a seatbelt to but it's not the "Best" idea to be relied upon for safety?
There is nothing on these old trucks that resemble a proper seat belt mounting from the factory. Seat belts were never a consideration during design and construction. If you want to install them, you'll have to do your own engineering and installation, and hope you did it good enough if you ever need to 'use' them.
That it was shaved off.. Would be weird for someone to shave just one side, especially knowing most of these trucks only came with a passenger side cylinder...

Thanks I figured as much, I mont looking for a shoulder harness but atleast some good lap mount locations.. I can just fab them up my self.
