Is there any way to check my fuel flow out of my fuel pump? I have checked my fuel pressure and it is good at 64 psi. My truck just seems like it is running out of fuel? Just make me wonder if it's getting the flow it needs
I'm sure they're relatively new, but how old are the fuel filters and has anyone that you know of tampered with the fuel system? Besides filling a known volume on time a flow meter is the only way I know. You can have the pressure and not have the volume but I've not seen that issue with a stock truck (yet).
No one to my knowledge has mess with the fuel system. I did put the blue spring update in The filters have about 2000 miles on them Do you happen to know what the pump is rated at?
The reason I'm thinking this I've cleaned some gritty trash out of my water drain plug a couple of times. ( I've went so far as to drop the tank and mop it out wasn't anything really in there tho) Just thinking if that grit got past the filter into the pump it could have eaten it up?
It seems to me that if your pump couldn't produce sufficient flow, or it were being blocked prior to the upper fuel bowl, the pressure would necessarily have to drop. If it's not dropping you have to have enough flow to the upper bowl.
Theoretically, there could be a flow problem after the upper filter, but that seems unlikely.
I think the "feeling like it doesn't have enough fuel" could also be caused by a High Pressure Oil problem. Or maybe even an FICM problem.

If you think it's unlikely then it probly is unlikely I was just really trying to brainstorm my Problem this evening. I'm not real familiar with the 6.0 so here I am racking my brain.
69cj. Yes I am running all motorcraft filters and rotella 15-40 oil
it is not to common however you can have good pressure and poor volumn usually from a restricted sock filter in tank or in feul line http napa auto tech 6.0 powerstroke feul system has agood write up with pictures on testing feul system
I have pulled the tank there isn't a sock but there ia a thing not sure what you call it bit it looks like a funnel turned upside down with large orface scree (1/16" openings) in the big end small end hook to the pick up tube
thanks for the link i went and checked it out lots of usable info there looks like im gonna have to get to work. now the question is where to start should i check to banjo bolts, check the pressure on the back of the heads? no oil level increase so dont think orings are bad i will be checking for air bubbles tho
