I forgot to give a shout out to Auto Recycling Mall in Maricopa, AZ. I had a very good experience with them. They are a full service parts yard. I paid $150 for the trans crossmember and rear driveshaft, including delivery. $25 more than the rear driveshaft alone out of SLC. The service staff was a pleasure to work with as well. Very knowledgeable.

I was expecting somewhat dirty parts as they were coming from a salvage yard. Not only were the parts fully cleaned, they were painted as well. I will definitely look to these guys for parts in the future. Way to go

Donna - Thanks for the anniversary congrats and right back at ya two! Yup, we got married on 10/10/10...ya, I know. LOL But I'm thrilled to be married to my sweetie!

Sorry I've been gone all week folks. As stated, last weekend was my one year wedding anniversary, so we spent the weekend away and it was great. Then this past weekend I had to shoot the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series at LVMS AND the IZOD IndyCar World Championships. I'm sure most of you have heard that Dan Wheldon died yesterday from the crash at that race. I was there and it happened (the crash) right in front of me. I did get images of the crash. It was a very, very sad day. Normally I would be thrilled at the crash pictures (not that they crashed, but that I got the images), but I'm really not thrilled at all now because of it. Really sucks and is disheartening.

Anyway, as soon as I put the images from both races on my site, I'll post up the link here for anyone that wants to see them (not just the crash images...all of the images from the weekend).

In two weeks I shoot NHRA at "The Strip" at LVMS. I just pray that it goes better than yesterday did. Donna - I'll miss ya there. Would have been cool if I could have met you two. Hopefully next year I'll shoot it and be able to meet you two.

Thanks Mat! Sounds like you had fun for your anniversary. I'd love to see the pictures. Sorry you had to witness such a horrific accident. They lost a good one!
I'm jealous!...I wish we could've afforded to get tickets to "The Strip" at LVMS this year, but major vehicle repairs at the beginning of the year ate up our tax return, so there went our anniversary celebration. Oh well, maybe next year!
Hey, I know...put a good word in for me when you go. I would love to help out working medical (my dream job) for the event next year - hell, anytime for that matter!

As I'm sure you all know, Dan Wheldon died on Sunday due to his injuries sustained in the lap 12 crash that took out 15 cars. It happened literally in front of me. If you look at the LVRJ slide show of pictures, in some of them you can actually see the photo tower that is located on the tunnel between turns 1 & 2. If you look at the picture, I'm the 4th person from the right with a yellow vest on. As I said, it literally happened in front of me. A few other media outlets and pro photographers have complimented me on my crash images. I'm torn because although they are good shots, I know what the ending result was from the crash, so it saddens me.

Anyway, there are the images from the weekend.

Donna - I'll definitely say howdy if I come up that way. Sorry to hear you guys can't come down, but I'll mention something to the medical crew if I see them. Normally I don't interact with them, but I'll do my best.

PS We're still working on the Renn Faire pics. LOL I'll have to get on my wife's case about getting those done.
