Im needing a blend door for 1997 ford expedition.Any ideas on how much they are and where i could get a cheap one?
Ebay possibly? Cost wise, I don't know but there is a company that produces the blend door in steel so one never has to endure the door cracking again...
Heater Treater is the steel one, and it goes in through the glove box as opposed to taking the dash out.
It's about $120 for the Heater Treater steel door kit versus about $25 for the standard plastic replacement door. The only advantage to the Heater Treater one is that you don't have to remove the entire dash to change it.
I installed it in my 97 Expedition yesterday, took me a while but so glad its all done. Be careful when removing the blend door, there is a plastic ring at the top holding the door shaft, be careful not to break it.
I should have worn some mechanics gloves when pulling the parts out and unscrewing the bolts, got lots of small cut on the hand and my hands are throbing and swollen.
