Has anyone else dealt with them? I just bought 20" Rockstars from them and two of the rims were damaged. It also looked like all the boxes were opened and never taped shut.
They did at least make it right, they said they could send me two brand new rims out but it would take 3-4 days or they'll give me some money back. The damage wasn't too bad and they offered me a pretty decent penny for them, so I took the money, but its still the fact it was messed up
They are a sponsor and pretty well respected. I think you have issues with the shipping company. UPS, Fedex, or whoever. Tirerack stepped up, even though they would have been right to send you to the carrier insurance provider.
I know the VP of the company personally. He's a stand up guy and so is the company. Seems like if they made things right you should be happy. I've purchased many sets of tires from them and had them installed. Never had a problem. They go above and beyond a normal tire/wheel installation.
Very good company. I deal with Tire Rack about 12 times a month and have always had great service and nothing less from them. I agree it's probably the shipping companys fault.

Oh I am happy. I half way expected them to say too bad. Just thought it was odd how they were packaged.
You can't blame it all on the shipping company though. I single layer of cardboard is not sufficient to protect the edge of a wheel. When I ship wheels, I wrap the rim in either bubble wrap or thin foam and do double cardboard on the front side.
They were the cheapest out of all the places I looked (for rockstars at least). I researched for a couple months trying to find the best deal. And to my surprise all 32 lug nuts, a lug wrench, and a low profile socket, where included in the price

Seems to me like the manufacturer of the wheel would be responsible. I'm assuming the wheels come from the manuf each in their own box, and Tirerack just forwards them. Possibly even a drop ship. I don't think they are sitting around Tirerack on open pallets, but I could be wrong.

Wheel prices seem pretty good. Tire prices are good, but there are plenty of local tire shops that will match the Tirerack price plus shipping, and you still have to go to a local shop for mounting anyway. So I have not yet found a Tirerack deal on tires that was worth it.
What might be a good deal is their mounted tire/wheel combo deals. It would be worth comparison shopping them if you needed both.
It is harder to find local deals on wheels. The shops that have a good selection of wheels, I don't really trust to mount tires, and the shops that are good with tires don't have good prices on wheels, in my experience.
