I have a 04 f250 6.0 and I'm pretty sure the injector has been going out for about 3 weeks now. It's not running to to bad yet. Will it hurt anything if I keep driving it till it's to bad to drive
I used sea foam to see if it would run better but it didn't help at all. It's jerking going down the road in low Rpms and spitting and sputtering in high Rpms and now it cranks slow and takes about 5 seconds to get up to regular idle.
If it's doing that because of low fuel pressure...the longer you drive it, the more expensive it's going to get. Sounds like it's already getting worse since it sounds like it's starting to take longer to start than normal. Personally, I'd try to figure out what's going on before it's any more worse...but then I'm a tight-wade.
Well I'm pretty sure it's a injector. It just ain't gone all the way out. I just wasent sure if it would hurt it if I drove it for like another week before I replaced it

I'd figure it out if it is an injector going out before I let it go too much longer. Might check to make sure you don't have a chaffed wire...something simple like that can cause more damage if you keep driving it. The down side to the 6.0L; at $200+ an injector, I like to figure out what the trouble is before it gets any worse.
When it comes to the more common repairs, injectors are pretty much the second biggest cost (next to head gasket repairs). I would sure want to know what was going on before gambling with over $3k in injector work (less, but still expensive, even if you do the job yourself).
I've already changed one so I can do it myself. But my buddies got a top of the line computer I plugged in it before and it told me which injector it was bi just haven't had the chance to do it. Everybody has told me to check the ficm. I'm not familiar with that inform me please
Even doing it yourself, it is close to $2k in parts. Just to be clear - depending on the issue, you could be jeopardizing all of them (low fuel pressure, etc).
The FICM voltage test is described in a thread in the Tech Folder.
